MVRA and the Motorist

Traditionally, Motor repairers have had a bad press. Motorists have long been suspicious of motor technicians and there seems to be a widely held expectation that motorists will be ripped off as soon as they drive their vehicle onto a repairer's premises. MVRA wants to dispel the myth.

Servicing and/or repairing a car is a major cost and you want to be sure that your car is in the safe hands of a skilled and reputable repairer. MVRA repairers have all signed up to our extensive code of practice, which aims to ensure that motorists receive good service and are protected if anything goes wrong. MVRA is proud to be part of the Office of Fair Trading's (OFT) Consumer Codes Approval Scheme and in January 2005 Trading's (OFT) we successfully completed Stage One. This means that MVRA's code of practice meets the core criteria set by the OFT - all of which aim to ensure that industry codes of practice will promote and safeguard consumer interests.
